It’s rare to see an outdoor wedding ceremony in the UK because it’s a high risk proposition! Stuart and Lyndsey opted for La Souterraine, France in early September. Their Chateau De La Cazine Wedding took place on the rolling lawn and the weather and surroundings could not have been finer.
I was introduced to Stuart and Lyndsey by Jane and James whose wedding I photographed in Tuscany back in 2010. They also attended the intimate gathering of 25. I was a little anxious that it would be more difficult to remain inconspicuous because of the small number of guests to photograph but they could not have been lovelier and I felt very welcome.
After the ceremony, we setup Stuart’s English family and Lyndsey’s Australian family for group photos in a pool of shade opposite the lake. Then I sent the newlyweds for a quick ramble down a country track while I took some pictures from the drive. The Michelin star food was rich and delicious and the celebrations continued late into the night thanks to everyone being able to stay within the Chateau itself.
Fortunately for me, many of the staff and suppliers spoke perfect English. Sanni had also travelled from London to do natural Bridal party makeup which photographed beautifully. Funnily enough, I was chatting to Lyndsey and she’s just launched her own business after years of doing friends’ Bridal makeup.
